Fate of the Crimson Crown
Raevyn has been training as a wizard at Tinslyn Magic Academy since the age of 8. Born in Byron’s Light Raevyn has had very little to do with the Rhyspell family. Her father, Rennyn Rhyspell was a talented young wizard in the King’s Guard and met her mother, Lenaeriel Starem, at court in Byron’s Light. Lenaeriel is the third daughter of the elven King Lenwe but never had much time for the Elven ways, being much more entertained by the material aspects of Bygaria she moved to “the lower kingdom” when she was 75. A fixture at every court function Lena is sophisticated and fashionable, much more human than most elves. Upon becoming pregnant she quickly married one of her many suitors, Rennyn Rhyspell, and moved with him for a brief time to Maderry Castle. The Rhyspells were never very fond of Lena, treating her as an outsider and constantly unbelieving of Ren as the father of the unbnorn child. When Ren was called off again to fight in the sky wars for the King, Lena remained at Maderry for a time until the letter came telling of his untimely death and she fled back to Byron’s Light rather than remain with the Rhyspells. Raevyn lived with her mother for a time but she never had much time or care for children so at the age of 8 Lena made special arrangements for Raevyn to attend Tinslyn Academy early due to her obvious gifts in magic. Raevyn after that point lived mostly (and mischievously) in Tinslyn though she occasionally visited the Rhyspells in Maderry and even less frequently her mother who remains a fixture of society at Byron’s light. At Tinslyn she grew close to several individuals; The young Petalula Isriia, a drow sorceress and fellow student at Tinslyn and Professor Nyzkhe the Enchanter, Raevyn’s teacher of enchantment and greatest mentor at Tinslyn. Raevyn is close to many of the staff at Tinslyn, having lived most of her life within it’s hallowed halls and is seen as the latest star pupil following Paulos Izlude. Raevyn clings to her Elven heritage, almost as a show against her mother who abandoned the elven ways for human trivilaities and her family who quietly despise her half-elf status . Having recently gone as far as she can in school Raevyn has voluntarily joined the King’s Guard both to honor her father’s memory and to avoid returning either to Byron’s Light and her flighty Mother or Maderry and her judgemental family who although they pay for her schooling and lifestyle, still see her as an outsider.
